Vision Trip

About this trip

Radiant Life Church and Gracepointe Church partner with the village of Makuie through World Hope’s village partnership program. We are currently planning a trip to come alongside the medical staff working at the clinic in Gbendembu (which services Makuie) in an educational capacity – giving them the tools as needed to provide optimal health care in Gbendembu and the surrounding villages. World Hope promotes a developmental approach to poverty – breaking the “hero complex” of the Western world, and putting nuts-and-bolts in the hands of local people to create a way out of poverty in a way that makes sense in their context. To that end, our team will also learn, as they encounter different approaches to healthcare, within a Sierra Leonean village context.

Additionally, we will have a small “work” team going, to engage, as needed, in work projects alongside our Sierra Leonean brothers and sisters, with the aim of continuing to build relationships on the ground there. Our heart isn’t to alleviate poverty – our heart is to love people living in poverty, well, to engage them in relationship, to actually know who we are partnering with.
