Climate Resilience

Changes in climate around the world are now increasing hunger & poverty. But do they have to?

Decades of work to ending hunger and poverty are now at risk due to increasingly dangerous climate impacts. According to the FAO, “the gains made in ending hunger and malnutrition are being eroded by climate variability and exposure to more complex, frequent and intense climate extremes.”

In fact, world hunger is now on the rise again, largely due to climate impacts and particularly in areas where agricultural systems are highly sensitive to rainfall and temperature variability and severe drought.

Helping farmers switch to drought-resistant crops, protecting ecoystems, using clean energy, and building multiple-use water systems are some of the ways that World Hope works to alleviate climate impact and comes alongside communities to create and build sustainable, resilient soutions.
