Volcano Response
URGENT! Guatemala Volcano Victims Need Your HelpJoin World Hope to support victims of Guatemala’s volcano eruption who are in need of emergency supplies.
On Sunday, June 3, Guatemala’s Volcano of Fire (Volcán de Fuego) erupted, engulfing communities in its path and causing thousands of people to be displaced from their homes. A downpour and more volcanic activity to date have made recovery and rescue efforts challenging for responders.
After assessing the situation and reaching out to our representatives and partners on the ground about the conditions, we know that people in the affected region regularly collect drinking water from the rainwater. Now, their supplies are contaminated by the volcanic ash and other debris.
Alongside local churches and organizational partners, World Hope is urgently responding to the need by distributing water filters, solar power systems, and other supplies as needed.
