Marie Togbana Joins WHI as Social Protection Program Manager, Liberia and Sierra Leone
Marie “Special” Togbana recently joined World Hope International as social protection program manager of Liberia and Sierra Leone.
Born in Liberia and educated in Sierra Leone, Togbana is a nutritionist and gender specialist. She earned a bachelor’s degree in nutrition and dietetics and a master’s degree in rural development, both from Njala University in Sierra Leone.
Togbana’s professional experience began with an internship at the Bo Government Hospital, where she cared for children in the pediatric ward. Since then, she has worked in management positions in government and nonprofits, including senior programme officer of the Health and Gender Programme with Save the Children-UK and public health and gender manager of Volunteers to Support International Efforts in Developing Africa (VOSIEDA).
Togbana has two children, an 18-year-old daughter and a 16-year-old son. She is engaged to a pastor.
