Daybreak’s Team Hope is lacing up for the Grand Rapids Marathon on October 18, 2026, with one mission: to bring clean water to communities in Sierra Leone and Liberia. Since 2016, this passionate group of runners has combined endurance with purpose—raising funds and awareness for clean water projects that change lives.

Why We Run
Daybreak’s Team Hope believes that access to clean water transforms lives and entire communities. Many of us have seen it firsthand—walking into a village without water, and years later returning to see that same village thriving because of a single well.
- Villages grow into vibrant communities with schools, churches, farms, and businesses.
- Women and girls no longer walk miles for water, risking their safety.
- Health improves across the board, and infant mortality rates drop.
- Clean water brings stability, dignity, and opportunity.
- We often take for granted the water that flows from our faucets—never thinking twice about the blessing it truly is.
