Larry McAlpine Hoover Walk 2021

In 2003, Larry McAlpine began what became fondly referred to as “The Hoover Walk,” dedicating his August 5th birthday to walking for water and inviting others to join him and fundraise for a cause.

Although Larry passed away in 2017 after a long and hard-fought battle with cancer, his family and friends have continued to follow in his footsteps and walk each year on his birthday. Today, they are extending that invitation to everyone to join the walk for water in person or by making a gift.

Larry cared deeply about clean water and, during his lifetime, was able to invest in 60 wells in five countries thanks to sponsorships he collected for walking. Donations to the walk will continue to go to World Hope International’s clean water efforts.

The walk will take place on August 5th at Union Cross Park in  Winston-Salem, NC.

Larry loved life, loved people, walked with God, and brought hundreds on his journey. I am praying there will be many who follow in his footsteps.
