Safe water is the one solution to problems some people say are “too big to fix.” Clean water — our 2024 Global Prescription for Hope — can lessen interrelated problems that snowball and lock families into multigenerational cycles of despair. Problems like:

Because we’re on the ground every day working to right these wrongs, we see a better, achievable way to overcome them. With you, vulnerable children and their families can overcome their most common, significant and urgent problem — lack of clean water — and make gains against other problems.
Clean water provided by World Hope International and our partners already has improved the lives of more than 1 million vulnerable children and their families. We’ve seen lives change firsthand in Cambodia, the Philippines, Haiti, Sierra Leone and Liberia.

More than 1.4 million people in West Africa now have clean water because of 1,400+ World Hope International wells. But we can’t stop now. Can you imagine your life if every person in the U.S. went without clean water? That’s how many people in Africa still lack clean water.
- Without clean water, vulnerable children and families suffer from preventable hygiene-related diseases and deaths. But with clean water, they can survive.
- Without clean water, hospitals perform unsafe medical procedures and patients’ lives are at unnecessary risk. But with clean water, hospitals can help patients get better.
- Without clean water, women and girls skip school and miss work. But with clean water, they can learn as much as boys and earn enough money to feed their families.
- Without clean water, children and women risk being kidnapped, raped and trafficked on their walks for water. But with clean water, they can stay safe near their homes.
