Denali Debrief

Friday, June 14th, from 12-12:30 pm ET

Don’t miss the chance to ask Sara questions and hear about her experience attempting to summit Denali for clean water!

Save the Date for Friday, June 14th, from 12-12:30 pm ET to join us in our Facebook Live “Denali Debrief” Event!

If you haven’t heard before, Sara Hastreiter is our World Hope International (WHI) Ambassador and she is attempting to set a world record as the first woman in recorded history to sail the seven seas and climb the seven summits. Why? She hopes to use this mission to bring attention to #watermatters and raise funds for the work that WHI is doing globally around access to clean water.

In May, Sara attempted to summit Denali in Alaska—a mountain that is more technically difficult to summit even than Mt Everest! At only 1,300 ft from the summit, however, she made the painful decision to stop due to illness, injury, and overwhelming fatigue.

“It’s hard to describe how I feel at the moment. I’ll definitely give it some time & share my thoughts later on. I am of course disappointed (I can’t believe I have to climb this entire mountain again just for the last 1,300 feet!!!). However, I didn’t feel it was a choice. You have to make it up & back down from mountains and sometimes you just can’t go any further safely.

WHI Ambassador

Join our Facebook live event to hear her thoughts and reflections and find out why she was willing to go to such great lengths for clean water.

You’ll have the chance to ask her questions about the experience and her world record attempt, too!

Sara will also be leading a trip for WHI to Mt Everest Basecamp this fall! Check out the details and consider joining the trip or donating to one of the climbers!
