Because medicine saves lives

Third on the list of the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals is, “Ensure healthy lives and promote wellbeing for all at all ages.”

Health matters, and in vulnerable communities, good health is a form of currency. Without it, you cannot pursue education, employment, or civic engagement. Many health issues can be easily rectified by modern medicine while some require more intense solutions, such as surgeries.

Along with building the capacity of local healthcare facilities and training health workers, community health workers, village birth attendants, and therapy staff, we also work to offset the demand for supplies.

We provide humanitarian aid to Haiti and Sierra Leone in the form of medicine and medical supplies to small, remote hospitals and clinics to ensure that even those who cannot afford services are able to receive medical attention and have a chance to return healthy to their communities and continue to build positive change.

Many small hospitals cannot afford to purchase or ship the supplies, so we are able to work with partners to ship medcine and supplies sourced at a humanitarian-priced discount and work with local hospitals to continue providing much-needed quality healthcare in rural, impoverished communities.

Project Goals
  1. To empower hospitals mandated to provide free care to all pregnant, lactating mothers, children under 5 years old, Ebola survivors without remuneration.
  2. To support rural hospitals and clinics with limited resources to continue to treat patients
  3. To provide quality drugs which can be difficult to source locally
Expected Outcomes
  • More women and children come in to hospitals and clinics and receive quality care
  • Increased health among rural communities and vulnerable populations

Because of this – we [at Kamakwie Hospital] will be able to treat many more patients, take proper precautions as we deal with infectious and potentially dangerous illnesses.
